Come to St. George this weekend:

The new SHOW gallery will open its doors for the first time on Friday night, June 13th, at 8PM. Join us for the gallery sign illumination ceremony and an art preview. 8PM - 10PM. The new sign will be lighted at 9PM. Champagne will flow freely.

The preview will feature paintings by Lazarus Nazario and sculptures by Cynthia von Buhler.

SHOW will be a place for all the arts. Aside from exhibits of visual art, SHOW will present performances as well as demonstrations, workshops, when it will become HOW, as we turn off the S in the sign.

The sign is visible from The Staten Island Ferry Terminal. SHOW can be reached from the ferry terminal by crossing Richmond Terrace and climbing the stairs between Borough Hall and the Courthouse. SHOW is located on Stuyvesant Place.

Take a tour guided (by a large bunny rabbit) through NYC artist Cynthia von Buhler's art studio in the Meatpacking district. This video was created for an Exit Art exhibition of homemade artist videos showcasing their studios. The bunny interacts with von Buhler's sculptures. Many of these interactive works are currently on exhibit at SHOW.

Art By The Ferry

Saturday, June 14th, Sunday June15th, and Saturday, June 21st, from 11AM and 6PM

Enjoy art, music and performances against the backdrop of the NYC skyline in 15,000 sq. ft. of indoor exhibition and performance space and outdoors at The Lighthouse Museum Esplanade adjacent to the Ferry and venues from Fishs Eddy to the Staten Island Museum garden.

Over 125 visual artists will show at Fishs Eddy, 120 Stuyvesant Place and SHOW Gallery; three artists in restaurants ("Enoteca," "Cargo Café" and "Besso"); and five artists at the "Everything Goes Café." Over 100 musicians will be playing throughout the Festival in front of various restaurants, on Bay St. and in venues near the Greenmarket and the Staten Island Museum. Spoken word performances will be at the St. George Theater and the St. George library. The Festival will also include: Native American Dance, Drum and Storytelling; break dancers; a puppet workshop; a glass studio tour; African dancers; Ballroom dancers; Day De Dada street performers; hand made crafts and book sale; Greenmarket both Saturdays and nine restaurants. Cultural guides will hand out information on both sides of the Ferry as Bagpipers entice travelers off the Ferry.

SHOW will feature artwork by Lazarus Nazario and Cynthia von Buhler.

Workshops for the arts community will be run by COAHSI at 120 Stuyvesant. Times will be posted on the web site.

SHOW. Studio Gallery To Open Soon.

SHOW will open this Spring. The new gallery and studio allows for the art-making process to be viewed from the storefront windows. SHOW will feature the work of Cynthia von Buhler, Theo Dorian, and other artists. SHOW will be located across from The Staten Island ferry terminal on Staten Island.
